Who we are

WasteFriendly is a product of LM Waste Management Ltd, a company registered in England and based in Wickford, Essex. For the enquiry form on this website, LM Waste Management Ltd is the data controller. You can reach us at info@lmwaste.co.uk.

This website

There is no tracking on this site. No analytics, no advertising pixels, no cookies set by us, nothing following you about. That is why you are not being asked to click a cookie banner.

Our web host keeps ordinary server logs, which include your IP address and which pages were requested. That is normal for any website and is used for keeping the site running and secure.

The enquiry form

If you fill in the form on our contact page, we collect:

• your name
• your company name
• your email address
• your phone number
• how many drivers you have and which package you're interested in
• anything you type in the "anything you want to tell us" box
• your IP address and browser, which come with the message

That gets emailed to info@lmwaste.co.uk so we can reply to you about a free trial. We use it for that and nothing else. We do not add you to a mailing list and we do not pass it to anyone else to sell to you.

Our lawful basis is legitimate interests — you asked us about our product, so we reply. We keep enquiries for up to two years in case you come back to us, then delete them. Ask us sooner and we'll delete it sooner.

If your firm uses WasteFriendly

When a waste firm signs up, the information it puts in — its jobs, its customers, its prices, its photos, its transfer notes — belongs to that firm. The firm is the data controller for it. We hold it and look after it on the firm's behalf, which makes us the data processor.

That means:

• we do not sell it, rent it out or use it to advertise to anyone
• one firm's information is kept separate and is never shown to another firm
• our staff only look at it when a firm asks us to, or when we have to in order to fix a fault
• a firm can export its own information at any time
• if a firm stops using WasteFriendly, it can take its information with it and we delete what we hold

If you are a customer of a firm that uses WasteFriendly — so your name and address are on a job or a transfer note — that firm is the one who decides what happens to your details. Ask them first. If you cannot get an answer, write to us at info@lmwaste.co.uk and we will point you at them.

Who else sees anything

We use a small number of suppliers to run the service: a web host and server provider, an email provider for sending email, and a card payment provider for subscriptions. They only handle what they need to do their job and they are not allowed to use it for anything else. We do not use advertising networks. Information is held on servers in the UK or the European Economic Area.

Card details are handled by the payment provider. We never see or store your card number.

Your rights under UK GDPR

You can ask us to:

• tell you what we hold about you, and give you a copy
• correct anything that is wrong
• delete it, where we don't have to keep it
• stop using it for a particular purpose, or object to us using it
• hand it over in a form you can take elsewhere

Email info@lmwaste.co.uk and we'll sort it, normally within a month and at no charge.

If you think we've got it wrong you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK regulator, at ico.org.uk. We would rather you told us first so we can put it right.

Keeping it safe

The site and the software run over an encrypted connection. Access is by password, and drivers sign in with a company code and their own PIN so they only see their own jobs. We take backups so a firm's work isn't lost.

Changes

If we change this page we'll change the date at the top. If it is a change that matters to firms using WasteFriendly, we'll email them about it.
